Processed some of the backlog

I've processed some of the old project notes and photos that have been waiting so long for me to post them. Three projects and a teardown:

Solar Panel
Turn a transistor into an LED
Capacitor six-pack
Teardown: Funlamp

At work we ordered four ASUS Eee PC laptops to use as demonstration vehicles for various technologies my lab is developing. These things are a hacker's wet dream when you consider how cheap they are. I took one home to do an overnight teardown; I'm in the progress of writing up my findings to post here (as if the internet really needs one more article about the guts of the ubiquitous Eee PC.)

I liked what I saw, so I ordered one for myself. It is a 4G model, black, and it should arrive in a couple of days.

Bigtime site overhaul

It's been quite some time since I've updated this site. Sorry, folks. My job has somewhat reduced my time spent tinkering on projects in my basement, but I have worked on some stuff - I just never got around to putting it up on the Web. It is just such a hassle to format all the images, build the pages, etc... However, I can no longer rely on that particular excuse, because my friend Joe a.k.a. idlehero (uh, looks like his site isn't actually up and running at the moment) helped me set up a new version of my site running the Drupal content management system.
